King Kong
King Kong is the name of a fictional giant ape from the legendary Skull Island, who has appeared in several works since 1933, most notably of course, the original 1933 Film King Kong.
In the original film, the character's name is Kong, whose name was given to him by the inhabitants of "Skull Island". 'King' was added by an American film crew led by Carl Denham, who captured Kong and took him to New York City and labeled the "Eighth Wonder of the World". Kong escapes and climbs the Empire State Building or the World Trade Center
in the 1976 remake where he is shot and killed by aircraft.
